When the Moon Stirs Longing
On some nights, the moon becomes a mirror of our emotional highs and lows. In its light, the spontaneous impulse to break free from constraints clashes with the desire for security.
“To the Moon” gives voice to this inner conflict. Turmoil and longing manifest themselves in the nocturnal forest landscape, yet at the same time, a clear sense of peace resonates throughout.

Two Faces of a Soul
In this work, the archaic structures of the trees conceal the ambivalent human nature in all its intensity.
A face bursts forth wildly and furiously from the dark bark, rebelling against any form of constraint. A second face rests serenely within warm structures reminiscent of Klimt.
The pale, translucent figure in between unites both extremes within itself: the inner storms still rage, while its gaze is already seeking harmony.
During the Sturm und Drang era, the moon was a multifaceted symbol. It stood for the pursuit of freedom, the search for personal fulfillment, and the idealized notion of an untouched environment.
