My Inspiration

I am fascinated by those moments when something familiar suddenly takes on another dimension – a landscape, a memory, a scent, a reflection of light.

Nature, travel, literature, atmosphere, and increasingly scents become the starting points for artworks that exist between reality and fantasy.

My Background

Susanne Weber, Filzkünstlerin aus Wien, mit einem ihrer Werke

As a biologist with a deep connection to nature and a passion for textile techniques, I am drawn to wool as an artistic medium in all its possibilities. Since 2015, I have been "painting" with wool, combining traditional felting techniques with a contemporary visual language.

My works are regularly featured in national and international exhibitions and are held in private collections. After many years as a medical translator, I have been dedicating myself entirely to my artistic work since 2023.

I am a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists in Austria, the Kulturvernetzung Niederösterreich, and the European Textile Network.

My work creates both independent wool paintings and Series , in which wool enters into dialogue with other materials and image carriers. I am particularly interested in transitions: between the familiar and the mysterious, memory and perception.
