Nature
Destroyed - Healed
Secrets weave in the depths,
fish, symbols floating through the water.
Circles of life, spun in a gentle whirlpool,
a sea sparkling blue,
begun in dreams.
“Beware!”
A cry in the dark of night,
A shadow creeps,
Nature awakens.
A breath of destruction,
A gloomy river,
A tiger’s roar,
A menacing kiss.
Ouroboros dances,
unity in the circle,
beginning and end—
an eternal thing.
humanity and nature
in a call-and-response.
birth, growth, decay—an inseparable bond!
The stained glass technique makes felted pieces look like stained glass.
Felt is cut up and pieced back together—destroyed and healed. It’s a process that requires perseverance, but one that makes the result all the more radiant.
There are striking parallels to the subject matter. So what could have been more natural than choosing this very technique?
It took me many hours of work to assemble up to 200 puzzle pieces to create the “stained glass” piece. “Roaming the Ocean” was exhibited to great acclaim in Dublin, and “Beware” won third place in the audience vote at an exhibition in Vienna.
