Sea Glass
CLEAN
Sometimes the perfect surface is like a fortress wall. But beneath the facade, things are brewing—full of color, energy, and untold stories.
CLEAN captures the moment when this wall comes crashing down. It is the liberating outburst that shatters the rigid order and reveals the hidden beauty behind it.

That one, vibrant moment
Glass fragments lie among blocks of golden limestone. Shattered and held in place by mortar, they are part of a wall that has withstood wind, salt, and the elements for centuries.
But even stone changes. Rain seeps into fine cracks, salt crystallizes, and the mortar becomes brittle over time. Little by little, colorful fragments break away from the masonry—the deep blue of a forgotten dream, the bright green of a suppressed hope, the fiery orange of a secret wish.
Below the walls, the sea waits. It gathers up the shards of glass and carries them away.
The flat photographic print of the fortress wall contrasts with pronounced textile reliefs. The tension in the work arises from the interplay between the illusionistic surface and the tangible depth.
The composition extends beyond the edges of the backing board, visually dissolving the clear boundaries of the image.
Rough mountain sheep's wool, coarse wool pellets, and shiny viscose fibers create a textured surface. The sea glass is embedded in felt and vegetable netting and glimmers here and there between the fibers.
Through the interplay of stone, fibers, and glass, the solid surface becomes permeable. What at first seems hidden takes on color, volume, and presence.
