Sea Glass

On the coast of Gozo, sea glass can be found that still retains its rough edges, its sparkle and the traces of its history.
The three works CLEAN, CLEAR and CUT pick up on this discovery. They tell of fracture, renewed clarity and the emergence of unusual forms.
Spring 2025, a windy beach on Gozo. I was searching for sea glass – and found raw, jagged pieces that practically vibrated in my hand. Weeks later, I discovered the theme of the next Malta Biennale: "Clean. Clear. Cut." A single glance at the collected glass was all it took, and the vision for three works instantly came to life.
Depth is not found in the polished and smooth, but in the fractures that tell a story.
